The focus at the Meticulous Marksman is precision Marksmanship. We also focus on defensive techniques and awareness. We are affiliated with Phase 3 and other defensive training services. If you participate in these activities, our reloading classes are a must for you! The marksmanship skills you will master with us most certainly contribute to success in these activities.

When proper safety is observed, the shooting sports are incredibly safe. but ONLY when these rules are observed! 1. Always Keep Your Muzzle Pointed in a Safe Direction. 2. Always Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger until Ready to Shoot 3. Always Keep Your Firearm Unloaded Until Ready to Use. 4. Always Know Your Target and What is Beyond
You simply can not be successful at the shooting sports until you have mastered the art of “Being Present” 1. Never engage in shooting activities unless you are ready to pay absolute undivided attention. 2. Always approach the shooting sports and those engaged in the sport with respect and humility. 3. Always observe proper range etiquette and observe the range rules at all times. 4. Always respect nature, the outdoors, and the environment while engaged in shooting or hunting, and always. 5. Remember that bullets can never be “Called Back!”

Some of our courses are and some are “Home Brews” where the NRA does not have a course covering the subject matter. NRA CERTIFIED COURSE indicates what it says. THIS IS NOT AN NRA CERTIFIED COURSE also means what it says.
No, some of the courses are classroom only, and some are Range Only, or blended. Each class description indicates which are and are not. That being said, if you want range time with us to amplify the instruction, this can be arranged.
No. We can accommodate you with a loaner to get your feet wet in the sport. The rest will be up to you. You can definitely “train up” with a modestly priced rifle and then decide whether or not investments in the sport need to be advanced.
We keep classes small for two reasons, first most of them are “Hands On” and require close supervision and coaching. Secondly these are more esoteric in their content, and frankly we wouldn't fill larger classes. We cater to a Unique Breed of shooter.
In some cases yes, in some no? Some times, it will be at your discretion. We will definitely chat prior to your assigned class and go over what you will and will not be required to bring with you. That being said, a SMILE is always mandatory to have with you in class.
Yes, I am involved with defensive shooting instruction, but not through the Meticulous Marksman. Defensive courses are offered through Phase 3 Training.

Absolutely! We offer courses and coaching. We will also try and find them a club to join, or a school to compete with.
Yes! we can set up group NRA Certified RSO Courses for clubs, or just a bunch of guys who want to get qualified. (Group Discounts apply). NRA Certified RSO course require a minimum
Most classes are held at my home in Nassau County in Baldwin. But group classes can be held at remote locations where appropriate.

No! It is more dangerous to store gasoline in your garage, than ammunition, or the components to make ammo.
Exposure to Lead can be harmful if not properly managed. But our courses cover the safety precautions necessary to make bullet casting a safe, fun, and money saving activity.
It certainly can get to be, if thats what you want, but getting started, and learning the proper ways to approach the hobby will save you a lot of money. You don't have to spend a lot to enjoy the shooting sports. In fact most of the courses we teach help you in saving money.
